EXTENDED BIO

With a voice like a clear blue sky, Singapore-born, Toronto-based Chinyi C writes music that heals your inner child and makes you lean into the people you love. Honest, soothing, and thoughtful, she draws her audiences into a world shaped by memory and meaning through intimate lyricism and lush fingerpicking, with broad influences spanning Tanya Chua, Sara Bareilles, Bread, and Donovan Woods. Her stories navigate the complexities of the Southeast Asian diaspora and the longing for permanency that underscores many immigrant experiences. She released her latest single, Everything is Changing, in October 2025. The song centres holding on to the people who matter, in a world that constantly tries to draw our attention away.

Chinyi C broke into the folk music scene with her debut EP, All We Are (2022), a compilation of six songs on resilience, heartbreak, and moving on. In 2024, she released her single, Human, a folk and chamber-pop exploration accompanied by a visually compelling music video that she co-directed and produced.

Currently, Chinyi C is developing her next recording project. She has performed in large-scale festival settings to small, intimate house concerts in different parts of North America and Asia, including: Folk Canada, Jade Music Festival in Taiwan and Vancouver, Sofar Sounds, Pearson International Airport, and Small World Centre.
